Hackathon Evaluation Update: Top 10 Finalists Selected

Dear Participants,

The judges have completed the initial evaluation of submissions, and we are pleased to announce the Top 10 finalists of the IGAD Hackathon 2026: Smarter Early Warning, Stronger Communities.

The shortlisted teams will be invited to a physical evaluation workshop at the ICPAC offices in Nairobi from 12th to 15th August 2026. During the workshop, the finalists will present and demonstrate their solutions to the judging panel.

Following the presentations and final evaluation, the judges will select the Top 5 teams, who will be recognised as the final winners of the hackathon.

The Top 5 winners will be officially announced on 18th August 2026 in Kigali, Rwanda, during the GHACOF 74 event.

We congratulate the Top 10 finalists on reaching this important stage and sincerely thank all participants for their innovative solutions, commitment, and contribution towards strengthening early warning systems and building stronger, more resilient communities.

Further details regarding the physical evaluation workshop will be communicated directly to the shortlisted teams.

Congratulations to the Top 10 finalists, and we look forward to seeing your solutions in Nairobi.
